We are presently looking for a candidate who would be responsible for managing our company's construction yard.
The ideal candidate will have experience managing a yard/warehouse, preferably in a construction or industrial setting.
The candidate would ensure an extremely efficient, safe, and organized yard operation.
The right candidate should also have general mechanic knowledge.
Be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Have a strong sense of integrity and be willing to take on additional responsibilities.
We are looking for someone who has a positive attitude and can work with little supervision.
This position requires someone who can think on their feet and prioritize tasks during busy times while still being able to adapt quickly if needed.
Responsibilities:
Find, organize, and oversee vendors/subcontractors for the repairs and maintenance of marine and construction equipment.
Performs routine daily activities related to the overall organization of the company yard and day-to-day support of ongoing crew operations.
Organizing and grouping inventory to maximize space utilization.
Organization and cleaning of yard, shop, and storage facilities.
Receive and organize materials.
Load/Unload equipment and materials.
Track location of company tools and equipment.
Oversees facility vehicles, tools and equipment ensuring they are safe, operational, and regularly serviced.
Ensure proper disposal of all debris/scrap material in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Accurately maintain maintenance logs.
Empower employees to take ownership in the use, maintenance and safety of all tools and equipment.
Preferred Experience Includes:
Basic understanding of vehicles, small engines, electric tools, and construction equipment for maintenance and repair.
Experience in the construction industry and/or related field.
General mechanical knowledge.
Recent supervisory experience in yard, inventory, or warehouse management.
A valid Driver's License, and reliable transportation is a must.
Marine Contracting Group is a drug free workplace and a prescreen is required.
